Mansfield State School is thrilled to offer the Commonwealth Bank School Banking program to all students and their high school siblings (Terms and Conditions apply – siblings are allowed to claim rewards but are not eligible for entry to the Competition).
School Banking is an enjoyable and interactive way for students to learn about money and develop good savings habits. Children who deposit money into their Youthsaver account through School Banking earn Dollarmites tokens, which they save up and redeem for rewards.
School Banking is also a fundraiser for Mansfield State School. Our School receives $5.00 when a student makes their FIRST School Banking deposit and 5% commission on every deposit made through the School.
TUESDAY is School Banking day (starting at 9am) and each week, students can bring their completed yellow deposit wallet and put it in the grey banking bag in their classroom.
HOW TO OPEN A SCHOOL BANKING ACCOUNT:
All you need is to open a Commonwealth Bank Youthsaver account for your child in one of two ways:
Visit commbank.com.au/schoolbanking and click on the link to open a Youthsaver account.
2. In Branch
Visit a Commonwealth Bank Branch with identification for yourself and your child (e.g.: a driver's licence and birth certificate).
If your child has an existing Commonwealth Bank Youthsaver account, they can start banking straight away. They just need to bring their deposit in each TUESDAY, using their Dollarmites deposit wallet.
COMPLETING YOUR DEPOSIT SLIP FOR SCHOOL BANKING DAY:
Kindly ensure your child's deposit slip is filled out before banking with School Banking. All 7 fields below need to be completed:
Child's School Banking student number. Student numbers are issued on the child's first ever school banking day (At School, not at via the Bank);
Child's Youthsaver account number;
Amount in coins, notes and/or cheques (cheques made out to the student);
Total amount of deposit (please remember, foreign currency is not accepted);
7. Total amount of deposit (input into the "Add this deposit" field).
CLAIMING A REWARD:
To claim a reward, simply send 10 silver tokens and a completed reward coupon with your child's normal School Banking deposit on a Tuesday. Reward coupons are available on request through School Banking or can be printed at home from the Commonwealth Bank website. Once we have received the reward claim, it takes approximately 1-2 weeks for the Bank to post these rewards.
Tokens cannot be shared or pooled together with friends and family.
Please check on the reward coupon for when each item becomes available (i.e.: Heat Reactor Pencils are available to claim from Term 3 and Slushie Maker Cups are available to claim from Term 4).
NB: The Secret Scratch Notepad is no longer available.
A cheque may be deposited through School Banking provided the cheque is made payable to the name of the child into whose account it is being deposited. A great option for Birthday money!
This year, one lucky School Banker will win a family trip for up to two adults and three children to Hawaii, USA just by saving. For a chance to win, students will need to make 15 or more School Banking deposits before the end of Term 3 2018 to automatically receive an entry into the competition.
The trip includes:
* Return economy flights to Honolulu, Hawaii plus airport transfers;
* 7 nights’ accommodation at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel & Resort staying in a Luxury Ocean Room, with beach views and breakfast included;
* AU$2,000 spending money.
If you have a question about School Banking, please feel free to place a written note inside your child's deposit wallet. However, if it is a bank account balance you are after, you will need to visit your local Commonwealth Bank branch or call 13 2221 for this information as Banking Co-ordinators do not have access to this.
It is never too late to start School Banking. Open a Dollarmites Youthsaver account today! If you would like to know more about School Banking, please ask for a 2018 School Banking parent information pack from the school office or visit commbank.com.au/schoolbanking
