Each year, school leaders and captains are nominated and selected by the students and staff of Mansfield State School. These Year 6 students are selected on merit, as positive role models who promote the school values. The captains and leaders are formally recognised at an induction ceremony at the beginning of each year.
School Captains
Four students are appointed as school captains. They have various roles throughout the year, including hosting assemblies, involvement in the student council and representing the school at various events.
Koongarra, Banjora & Tarrawingee House Captains
Four Year 6 students from each of our sporting houses are appointed as House Captains, to assist in leading sporting events throughout the year.
Music, Performing Arts, Community, Technology & Environment Leaders
Two Year 6 students are selected to represent and support each of these important areas within our school. These leaders perform various duties in their roles, such as hosting special events and ceremonies.
Student Council
Students learn the roles of a committee by being involved in our student council. Not only the meeting process but we try to extend their abilities by participating in activities. The council organises events and fundraisers so projects can be proposed and enacted to improve the school.
Class Captains
Each semester, each class from Years 4 to 6 elects a Class Captain. Their role is to support and assist their class teacher and classmates, and to be role models for other students. They are also actively involved in the Student Council.
